Jee Kim

Born and raised in Seoul and now calling NYC her home, Jee has a deep conviction in life to tell compelling visual stories. During her Master's program at School of Visual Arts, she expanded her creative process as a visual storyteller through 2D animation, stop motion and riso animation. Channeling into her deepest sad-girl energy, she wrote and directed an animated drama about a complicated father-son relationship called, "GrownUp."

When she's not designing/animating, she loves being outdoors, whether it's hiking, snowboarding or simply running. She bikes around the city all the time almost exclusively to her carefully curated playlist "Melancholic Cotten Candy," pretending she's in a music video. For therapeutic purposes, she regularly visits Trader Joe's for their dry-roasted almonds and honey crisp apples.
