Anywhere from wonder and excitement to nostalgia and heartbreak - Jee is obsessed with making you feel something, the kind that stops you in your tracks (your scrolling). 

Born and raised in Seoul and now based in New York City, she's always lived at the crossroads of cultures and stories. At Washington University in St. Louis, she became irreversibly enamored with tactile craft - riso printing, letterpress - a sensibility that still bleeds into her work today. Having gravitated toward character illustration since she could hold a pencil, she finally articulated the throughline for all of her passions: connecting the human experience through visual stories. Her animated short GrownUp went on to earn a Best of Show in Communication Arts and screen at multiple film festivals, including New York Lift-Off Film Festival, Califronia International Shorts Festival, and Sydney World Fest.  

At Scholar, she brings that same instinct and a fresh perspective to work for clients like Google, Target, Facebook and Synergy - finding the human thread inside every brief. She thrives at the intersection of creative problem solving and storytelling - embracing AI-powered workflows to push creative exploration further, and equally at home navigating the messy, collaborative reality of bringing a vision to life.

Outside of Scholar, her craving for creative play extends to the perpetual cycle of side quests she finds herself in - whether an Instagram comic where she turns her life musings into visual essays or a small Etsy shop full of her silly little illustrations.
