ZACH HERDMAN
Studio Profile
I’m ZACH HERDMAN AKA HERDZ. I'm a painter, photographer, designer, art director, Surfer / Skater, living in NYC. I was first attracted to the world of motion design because it offered seemingly endless things to learn & be inspired by. From 3D to Design & Typography, to Animation & Live action. I was attracted to the non-linear timelines, and alternative storytelling methods

What does your art space look like?
Painting studio, right by a window. Lots of things everywhere.
What’s been your favorite project with Scholar?
Rockstar energy; I thought the ideas and art direction were super solid and the executions from the team were beautiful.
What are you currently learning?
I think being a beginner and exposing yourself to different processes, especially those that are not digital, really helps me stay in a creative mindset; I'm currently trying to learn how to DJ, Sewing and screenprinting.
What did you study in school and what is the most valuable thing you learned?
I studied motion design at SCAD. and I think making and designing decks is hands down the most valuable thing. How to capture a vibe through reference, Style frames, writing and typography.
