NY SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
Scholar is looking for a Support Technician for our New York office. Responsibilities include resolving connectivity issues, configuring and managing end user systems, and providing frontline support for users with a variety of technical issues.
Responsibilities
- On-board and off-board a fluctuating pool of artists and producers.
- Set up, maintain, and manage workstations, render farm, laptops, and hardware peripherals.
- Support a wide range of software packages across a mix of operating systems.
- Address the day to day technical needs of production.
- Ensure all issues and solutions are properly documented in the ticketing system and company knowledge-base.
- Manage and prioritize several open issues at a time, and escalate unresolved problems when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to problem solve, multitask, and work as part of a team.
- Experience troubleshooting in a mixed environment (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X).
- Troubleshoot video conferencing solutions, including Google Meet and Zoom.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, WDS/MDT, Munki, Mosyle MDM, or similar management softwares.
- Understanding of basic principles of networking and systems administration (DNS, DHCP, VLAN, NAS).
- Able to lift heavy items up to 50+ lbs.
- Expected to work remotely and on-premises with a support schedule that may include after-hours and weekend support.
- Degree/Certification in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical field preferred. Will also consider equivalent experience in a similar role.
Bonus Points
- Working knowledge of typical VFX applications (Maya, Nuke, Cinema 4D, Adobe Suite, Deadline).
- Familiarity with Cloud services and providers, like AWS, Frame.io, Wiredrive, Signiant Media Shuttle, Aspera
- Experience scripting or programming (Python, Bash, C++, or similar).
- Experience in a Design, Animation, or VFX environment.
- Familiarity with video and broadcast routing, standards, and workflows.
