Google Play
'Ready to Play'
Taking the stage at Game Developers Conference 2026, Google Play, Scholar and our legendary partners at Omelet channeled the 2-billion-strong playerbase and innovative spirit of Google Play into a blazing cinematic spotlight trained squarely on developers, redefining what an industry showcase can be.
Blending emerging technology and meticulous vfx, Scholar brought game key art into a dimensional, stadium-like space brought to life with light from any angle. Upgraded with energized editorial, gamified transitions and standout titles from across the Google Play landscape, this campaign fused the scale of Google Play with the precision of a player-first message, whether it be to those crafting or controlling the games. The result was something rare: films as ambitious as the games they celebrated, with smoke in the rafters, a pulse-pounding throwback beat and every title getting its moment in the light. The spotlight isn’t just on. It’s blinding.

Highlighting heart, grit and a rebellious trove of games and developers, we brought the energy of Google Play to the stage showing GDC ‘26 what it means to be Ready to Play.
"A showcase of innovative creators called for innovative craft: engineering flat imagery into full dimension, shaped and spotlit with the precision of a live-action production."
PROCESS
Shot at Scholar Studios in Los Angeles, we approached the live-action production like a playground. Using our stage, in-house gear, and lighting inspired by Google’s brand identity, we created a dynamic environment designed to capture the spark of creation and the thrill of gameplay.
